God, I Need Your Wisdom, Part 2

This week’s blog is a continuation from last week’s blog concerning the conversation my brother (deceased) and I had some 40 years ago. The subject of the conversation was ’How can a person believe in God but not his Son, Jesus Christ.‘ You see, my brother only believed in God but refused to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior. I, on the other hand, believe God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to be an ultimate capitulation for mankind’s sins and to unite humanity back to God.

As stated in Part 1, my brother thoroughly humiliated me and sent me fleeing from the room in tears. But much later, after much prayer and supplication, the Holy Spirit began to minister to me through God’s holy scriptures. So let’s continue discovering just how the Holy Spirit comforted me as I wrestled with my dilemma.

What is Truth? Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6  (Jesus’ life style showed mankind that doing and being in God’s will {which is the true way to live} in a consistent and obedient manner.)

And God said to the Apostle Paul, His prisoner… (Column 1.)

And God said to me, His prisoner(Column 2.)

12. For the perfecting of the saints
for work of the ministry, for the
edifying of the body of Christ:

Then he tells what the results
should be once the gift is
shared. Perfecting saints,
furthering the ministry work,
glorifying the Body of Christ.

Don’t forget the sharing of the
gifts is to be done in peace,
so that the recipient receives
in peace and leaves in peace.

They don’t have to agree,
but if they do disagree,
than disagree in love.
13. Till we all come in the unity of
the faith, and of the knowledge
of the Son of God, unto a perfect
man, unto the measure
of the fulness of Christ.

14. That we henceforth be no
more children tossed to and
fro, and carried about with
every wind of doctrine, by
the sleight of men, and
cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to
deceive;

15. But speaking the truth in
love, may grow up into him
in all things which is the
head, even Christ.

Suppose every profession
decided to share at the
same time in the world so
that every human being
was receiving from
someone the teaching of
the “one faith, one baptism,
etc., and we all heard and
received and even though
some disagreed, the end
result was peaceful and
respectful…

Then verse 13 would be
manifested and in that one
hour of sharing, because
of the “perfect” end results
we would no longer be
children, but on our way to
mature adults…unto
the measure of the
stature of the fulness of
Christ.

Showing no hate because there
was no angry disagreement, but
a sense of respect and love for
one another… and the more we
perfect this attitude, the more
Godlike we become and God
is the Head of all this.
16. From whom the whole body
fitly joined together and
compacted by that which
every joint supplies, accord-
ing to the effectual working in
the measure of every part
maketh increase of the body
unto the edifying of itself
in love.
If you haven’t followed me
down to verse 15, don’t even
try verse 16…forget it.

If you’ve been sitting there
doubting, countering, repeat-
ing to yourself…”she doesn’t
know what she is talking
about.” Than the “oneness”
is not in you and you have
blocked this one great hour
of sharing.

If your attitude has been
“I don’t quite understand
so I’m going to go to God
for myself…than that’s
O.K., everything is golden.
So now we can enter into
Verse 16. (This goes for
me as well.)

If any part of your body
is not working, then the
Head sends out less
supplies for it. When the
body begins to work,
the Head supplies its
needs. Christians
believe that all of this
“order” comes from the
Godhead. God’s knowledge
(free gift) is given to each
of us.
Part 3 will be presented next

Part 3 will continue to
show you how God
revealed it is impossible
to only believe in him
and not his Son, Jesus
Christ.

God, I Need Your Wisdom, Part 1

Yes, My Lord. It’s me standing in the need of Your consultation and prayers. Why is this so? Because three weeks ago I lost my last male sibling who died professing his loyalty to God alone but not ever acknowledging God’s Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

Where did my brother go, my Lord? I need your wisdom and closure. (Speak, Holy Spirit. My prayer for our session is in the song lyrics below. Please click, hear my plea for direction, and console me.)

“Jesus Be a Fence All Around Me.” By Sam Cook

I remember vividly that Monday afternoon on June 27, 1983, (some 40 years ago) while visiting my brother in Michigan (USA). I guess you can say we were having a heated discussion on the subject…’How can a person believe in God but not his Son, Jesus Christ.‘ My brother was more confident in his persuasiveness in our discussion than I was in mine. (He had been apostatized*.) He could talk louder and had a better track record for followers of the ‘God alone’ theory than I had in effectively leading others to become followers of Christianity. Which for me is the only true Gospel.

I recall that our conversation had become so toxic that I fled the living room, ran upstairs, fell on my knees in my bedroom and sobbed uncontrollably.

In due time, I received several revelations from God on this subject and I began to keep a diary of my thoughts. Now, some 40 years later, I would like to share with my blog followers and others, just how God dealt with me through his holy word. The telling of this saga (which will be presented in parts) will no doubt extend through the remaining Fridays in 2023. So stay tuned.

And God said to the Apostle Paul, His prisoner… (Column 1.)

And God said to me, His prisoner…(Column 2.)

1. Therefore, a prisoner for the
Lord, beg you to lead a life
worthy of the calling to
which you have been
called,

2. With all lowliness and
meekness, with long
suffering, forbearing
one another in love.

3. Endeavoring to keep
the unity of the Spirit
in the bond of peace.
Even though you disagree, disagree in love.

Don’t allow your thoughts and
actions to divide the Spirit.
For the Spirit is one and the
Spirit is peace.

So if you go away “Mad” the
Lord was not at all in your
conversation.
4. There is one body, and
one Spirit even as you
were called in one hope
of your calling;

5. One Lord, one faith,
one baptism,

6. One God and Father
of all, who is above all,
and through all, and
in you all.
Even as ye are called in one hope of
your calling…

Even though we are called, not all
answer. But as we are all called,
God hopes that we all will answer.
7. But unto every one of us is given grace
according to the measure of the gift
of Christ.

8. Wherefore he said, ‘When he ascended
up on high he led a host of captives, and
gave gifts unto men’.

9. (Now that he ascended, what is it
but that he also descended first into
the lower parts of the earth?

10. He that descended is the same also
that ascended up far above all heavens,
that he might fill all things.)

11. And he gave some apostles. and some
prophets, and some evangelists, and
some pastors and teachers,

Note: All eleven points are excerpts from
the Holy scriptures

Ephesians 4:1-11
(Written by the Apostle Paul)

But now “grace” is something
different. You can’t have grace
unless you accept, belief in
Christ and along with grace
comes a gift. In other words,
you receive a two-fold
package.

Christ is the keeper of all gifts
and when He gives freely and
we receive it and some of us
ask, “What have I to do with
this?” “What have I done
to receive a gift?”

And Christ answered, When
I went up on high I lead the
Prisoners of the Lord (the
Captives) (those persons
who believe in the “one
faith, one baptism, Lord,
etc.) and I freely gave
them a gift once we got
there.

All the gifts Christ gave
out were vocations. In
other words, the gifts
called for interacting
with others. Sharing the
“One’s” or sharing
the “Good News”.
Part 2 will be presented next Friday.Part 2 will continue to
show you how God
revealed it is impossible
to only believe in him
and not his Son, Jesus
Christ.

God Bids Us To Celebrate Thanksgiving

The month of November has been set aside as a time to give thanks. Let’s look at some of the ways people in America celebrate it.

Have you ever wondered what do clasped hands pointing upward towards heaven have to do with God? Well, according to several references from a Google search, it has to do with an acronym I have penned…R-O-S-S. Repentance – Obedience-Submission-Sincerity

However, needless to say, we have a higher authority than Google…do we not?

When the Patriarchs and holy men of the bible prayed unto the Lord, they often spread out their hands towards heaven. And the wisest man in the Bible (Solomon) went a step further; he also knelt on his knees (1 Kings 9:54).

So, at the beginning of this holiday season, let us posture ourselves in a position of repentance, obedience, submission and sincerity and call upon the Name of the Lord while doing so on bended knees.

Another thing we can do is to spend some special time with our little children. Several American cities celebrate the month of November with various parades and festivals. Attending activities that the whole family can enjoy is an excellent way to teach your child how to love unconditionally. When you return home from a family outing, take the time to discuss it with your child. Ask them questions that will give you a time to share your faith and to apologize for anything that has gone amiss. Discuss safety rules with them when in a crowd. Plant seeds of wisdom and reasons why they need to obey you. To be submissive means to yield to someone else in a higher authority. This type of training can also be incorporated in family times of pleasure. After all else is said and done, you can now heap sincere praises and compliments on the child’s conduct. A few hugs and kisses could also seal the time you have spent in godly ‘training’ with your offspring.

So, at the close of the day, let us posture ourselves in a position of repentance, obedience, submission and sincerity and call upon the Name of the Lord while doing so on bended knees.

As you mature in Christ, broaden your prayer time to include the widows, orphans, homeless, calamity dispossessed victims, jobless, sick and shut-ins, governments, the lost, backsliders, friends, wars and rumors of wars, and relatives and most of all…PEACE!

Because God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that who so ever believed on Him should not parish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
