Has God Distributed To You Your Academic Report Card?

Yes, it is that time of year again. And no doubt you are ‘itching‘ to know how you have performed in the service of the Lord so far in the year 2025. Obviously, if your previous test scores needed a little tweaking, you still have approximately 2 remaining months to improve your scores. Well, surprisingly, after I evaluated my last report card, I was not too pleased. So I decided to muster up some humble pie courage and solicit an appointment with my Master of Glorified Living instructor. Prior to keeping the appointment, I practiced my pious, multifaceted-persona appearance.

A small bouquet of roses wont hurt.

After a casual greeting of both minds, I dove right into why I wanted to meet with my professor. You see, I want to place some urgency on this meeting because I felt that the academic pursuit that I had prayerfully selected was not as scholastically rewarding in the long run as some of the other students’ pursuits were. My professor leaned back in his leather chair and made a remarkable comment.

First he asked me if I had prayed to God concerning my choice of college academic studies. A little peeved at his inquiry, I responded, Yes, of course! But then very wholeheartedly I added, but I don’t intend to pursue the highest degree offered in this line of work. The professor was very serious as he gently responded to my outburst. Since you indicated that you had prayed over your choice of studies, do you not know that when God is in the mix of handing out his “job assignments” he does not measure whether the task is great or small, he looks at your faithfulness in pursuing his will and his ways…not yours.

“Brothers [and Sisters], think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things–and the things that are not–to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. (1st Corinthians 1:26-29)

I once was young, but now I am old. But, because of the protection, love, prosperity, and the protection of the Holy Spirit, the Good Lord has covered me all the days of my life! I have learned to be thankful for all the blessings that the Lord has sent my way. But most of all I pray that my life of gratitude has been pleasing in the sight of God. And my reward will be that I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever and ever. It is my sincere desire to hold on to His unchanging hand until traveling days are over. Amen and Amen!
